Sarkozy Show Continues
Once again, Nicolas Sarkozy's antics have hit the headlines. This time, he's grumbling that an employee of the French state television company where he was being prepared to give an interview failed to respond to his polite "Bonjour."
"It's a question of education", Sarkozy said, as the sound technician who pinned a microphone to his lapel ignored his greeting. For the rest of the pre-interview footage, Sarko gives his best Tony Soprano impression as he mutters about the technician's unsuitability for state employ.
The footage was promptly sneak-released to far-left news website Rue 89.
This is the second time in six months that Sarkozy's unwillingness to take insults sitting down has landed him in trouble. At an agricultural show in February, a farmer refused to shake the President's hand, declaring that he was "defiled" by Sarko's touch. Sarkozy wandered off, with the words "bloody idiot."
