Nazi Gold
A German treasure hunter says he has "pinpointed" hidden Nazi gold.
In what is described as a "secret man-made cavern" outside the village of Deutschneudorf, near the border of the Czech Republic, Heinz-Peter Haustein, 53, a member of parliament and mayor, believes he has found the place where Hitler and his cohorts hid gold and diamonds and valuable historic items towards the end of the Second World War.
The digging to find the supposably high-quality goods may take weeks because explosives experts and engineers could have to be taken underground to check for booby traps and make sure that the site is safe.
The location has been under guard since Saturday 16 February.
Gold dust or not, the hunt is on. Maybe gone, but not forgotten.
