Talking Italian
Italian food is good for you you. But only if it is made in Italy. This is the message from Rome.
Italy has launched a fight against "food pirates". And those who do not comply will have to walk the plank.
The battle is against culprits in the European Union and around the world who replicate the genuine goods that are renowned to originate in the boot of the Mediterranean.
Let's start with mozzarella from Minnesota. Or Parmesan from Brazil. "Italian tomatoes" from China.
The Italian farmers' union, Coldiretti, has opened an exhibition of "counterfeit Italian foods" in the Palazzo Rospigliosi, the union's headquarters in Rome.
Signor Sergio Marini, the head of Coldiretti, says trade in fake Italian foodstuffs amounts to an estimated 50 billion euros per year.
Now, consumers around the world have been warned. If it does not say "Made in Italy", don't buy it.
Otherwise, you may receive an offer you can't refuse.
