Iran: Don't Forget About Us
What with all the fuss over North Korea's nuclear bomb test, one has to feel sorry for Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose position as the world's most dangerous lunatic has been taken by Kim Jong-Il.
But you can't keep a good man down for long. Not to be outdone by his diminuitive rival, president "I'm Mad Jihad" has jostled to the front line of international nutjobs once again, this time with the bloodcurdling threat that "Muslims everywhere" will "take revenge" on nations who align themselves with Israel against the Palestinians.
"Even if we assume the Holocaust is true", he went on, "then why should the Palestinians pay the price for it?"
The BBC, with typical British understatement, pronounces Ahmadinejad's latest outburst as "hardline, even by his standards." The broadcaster adds the Iranian president "appeared to threaten any country that supports (Israel)."
However, Ahmadinejad concluded, Israel would soon cease to exist.
The President was speaking at the Jerusalem Day rally, traditionally a date for Iran's hardliners to fulminate against the evils of Israel and the west. Ahmadinejad, to date, has been diligent in continuing this colourful Iranian tradition.
