Britain Is A Christian Country

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) of the 2001 census figures shows that 71.8 per cent of people living in Britain describe themselves as Christian.

In other words an enormous majority of Britons are Christians.

This may come as a shock as we are permanently fed the idea that Christianity as a national faith is a thing of the past in this multi-faith modern country and in terminal decline.

The state, media, future king and even the Church are happy to peddle the line that says because most Britons don’t regularly attend church or do not outwardly profess their faith then they can be ignored in favor of a relative approach.

It allows the current deeply secularist state to classify Christians as a peripheral minority alongside the other world religions represented in the UK.

The prevailing view is based on a huge theological error. Christianity does not necessarily require its followers to do anything outwardly visible in particular to be Christians. Rather it is a religion of faith about faith, between an individual and God. This relationship could be established in the last two minutes of a persons life, for example.

Christianity does not require anything of its adherents that Governments, statisticians, economists or media commentators can gage and evaluate in a box.

That is why when 71.8 percent of all of Britain say that they are Christians then we must take their word for it, for who can judge the measure of their faith?

This truth that Britain is a Christian country, underlined by the only relevant statistic (71.8%) is being deliberately undermined by the authorities drive for the secularist/atheist view of order through multi-faith, multi-cultural relative balance.

The concept that British national stability is somehow served by treating any expression of Christianity as provocative or reactionary is dangerous, false and ignores the binding force that created the nation through its shared experience of history.

Britain is not a secular country in the way of France, for example.

The law of Britain recognises the Church of England as being the National church. The monarch is still crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church and state are intrinsically tied together having been so throughout history.

Not because the state created the Church as some would have us believe, on the contrary, the Church was established here before Britain was a nation- as far back as AD 300 and probably earlier. There were 3 English bishops present at the council of Arles in AD 314.

The shared British values that right and left-wing politicians are always on about were born of our Christian faith. Tolerance, love, respect, charity and freedom are as relevant now as ever. I suspect that they are still the shared values of the 71.8% and most of the rest, as they are not exclusive.

The secular government currently in power believes so much in its own ability to create stability and prosperity that it has passed more than 3000 criminal laws since it came to power and yet no one but a lunatic would describe the results as a success and at what cost to our freedom?

Christianity created the basis for the stability and success of Britain for a thousand years with no more than ten laws and the main two in the new testament.

Far from the religion of a bigoted minority of crackpots, as the official line that the state’s favoured media never ceases to pretend. Christianity is still the stabilizing and unifying force in the country. Christian believers treat all people the same and extend love to all others, even those from other faiths and creeds. Even to those who hate them.

It is irrelevant that the current crop of Church leaders are so weak in faith that they are unable to stand up and so many prominent people find talk of Christ and God embarrassingly un-trendy, when 71.8percent of Britons don’t agree.
